The final goal of my research is simple: Do better (safer, cleaner, more efficient…) chemical processes by developing computer-aided tools (models, methodologies…).

Specifically, in the last years I have worked in 3 main directions:

  1. Process safety and autonomous systems (functional modeling and STAMP/STPA applied to chemical processes).
  1. Modeling of chemical processes (develop user model tools for specific porposes).
  1. Applied thermodynamics (COSMO-based models and fluid phase equilibria).

The first two are carried out in the Autonomous System Laboratory (my current research group), in close collaboration with Profesor Manuel Rodríguez,  while the last one is performed in collaboration with Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

  • 2006-2007. “Estudios de mejoras en los procesos de separación y purificación en la producción de cauchos sintéticos”. Funded by Repsol-YPF.
